Cancer survivor and tennis legend Chris Evert shared some unfortunate news with her tennis fans recently. Her cancer has returned once again which has made her life difficult all over again. However, just like last time, she has a friend who helped her survive previously. And it is none other than, Martina Navratilova, a cancer survivor herself.
Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert were longtime rivals on the court in tennis. However, when cancer hit them simultaneously, they found comfort and best friends in one another as they helped each other come out of the other side of the tunnel. And now when Evert is down once again, Navratilova has come by her side to help her again.

Just after 11 months of sharing that she is cancer-free, the disease has made its way back into Chris Evert’s life. The 18-time Grand Slams champion’s ovarian cancer has come back again and she has to go through chemotherapy to fight against it. However, just like last time, she has the loving support of her friend Martina Navratilova this time as well.

Chris Evert shared a post on her official Twitter account with Navratilova thanking her for being there for her. She posted a photo in which the two of them are standing together and pointing toward the food which apparent Navratilova got for her. She wrote with the photo, “We’re in this together. Thanks for the delicious food.”
Navratilova went ahead and got Evert some comfort food during her time of need. Of course, the emotional support she brings for Evert also counts. The chemotherapy and the treatment that Evert has to go through now also impact her professional career and not just her personal. She would have to miss the 2024 Australian Open coverage due to chemo.

In a tweet, the official channel of ESPN shared how Chris Evert will not be able to join as a panelist during the coverage of the Australian Open for 2024. Since she will be undergoing treatment at the time, she will not be able to join her colleagues for the coverage. However, further, she also added that this might be the only tournament she misses.

After explaining her condition to her fans, she added that she might make it back for the rest of the grand slam season and Melbourne is the only time she won’t be available. Later she also added that is happy that everything was detected early this time around and that people should be thankful for their good health.
