Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams’ husband, is never reluctant to come to the support of his wife. Recently, when the whole tennis world was shocked by Simona Halep’s suspension over her testing positive for a specific drug called Roxadustat, the Reddit co-founder took a cheeky jab at the two-time Grand Slam champion. He tweeted a cheeky remark after sharing a 2019 post. However, fans were not happy with his indirect jab at the suspended Romanian star.

Fans fume over Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian’s jab at Halep
Back in 2019, the Reddit co-founder was present in the stands to support his wife. In the first round of the US Open, two tennis icons, Serena and Sharapova, went against each other, but what grabbed the attention was Ohanian’s t-shirt that he wore for the match. His t-shirt had DARE written on it, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.

The two-time major champion’s most recent success came in the 2019 Wimbledon final, where she defeated the former world number one to win her second Grand Slam title. With her suspension from professional tennis taking effect immediately, it remains to be seen if the Romanian will get the chance to contest the decision.
What are your thoughts? Did Ohanian cross the line by joking about a serious incident?
