After seeing the inclusion of Sharapova in the list, former legend Navratilova gave her opinion calling it a joke. However, fans were quick to react to it and gave their honest opinion on the comments sparked by the 18-time grand slam winner.

Recently, the tweet was shared by the world of statistics. The tweet asked for opinions from the fans asking who among the given 4 players was their all-time favorite.

However, seeing Maria on the list, Martina Navratilova was quick to disregard the list and called it a joke. “What a joke- I mean Maria? Really? Don’t even bother voting…” said Martina in the tweet.

But the fans were quick to react to this statement issued by the former winner. One user took to Twitter and said that she should feel happy that she played tennis in an era that was slow-paced citing that she wouldn’t last a set had she played it today. “Maria would smoke you on her worst day anytime. Be happy you played tennis in slow motion era. You wouldn’t last a set with these new girls now.”

Another fan expressed his disbelief at the remarks made by the former champion and said that she shouldn’t be comparing herself with Maria Sharapova as she is not a worthy opponent to her.

This fan again highlighted the same issue citing the fact that the times while both these players played were completely different so it does not make any sense to compare the two. The fan went ahead to slam the former player citing that she shouldn’t compare herself with Maria.

Another fan took to Twitter to post a beautiful picture of Maria Sharapova with the caption “jealous??”. This was meant as a hilarious dig at Martina by the fan himself.
