These comments made Williams’ fans furious. They accused two of them of making irresponsible comments and asked them to issue a formal apology.

Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova’s doping issues

Both the players have had some tough rivalry with the 23-time Grand Slam champion. In 2020, the Russian player, Maria Sharapova was banned because of testing positive for doping. And this year, after her run at the US Open, Simona Halep too was under the spotlight because she also tested positive for a banned substance.
