Novak Djokovic has dealt with a lot of off-court crisis this year. It all initiated from and got fueled by the Australian Open incident. The Serbian tennis professional, received a three-year ban for standing firm on his decision to stay unvaccinated. However, things are now starting to fall in his favor. As the Grand Slam has made amendments in accordance with his chances of reappearing in the event.

Djokovic traveled to the continent relying on the medical exemption supplied by Tennis Australia. However, a sudden decision by the government to revoke his visa, shocked the tennis legend. He filed an appeal which initially cleared his way, but the country’s Immigration Minister used his power to overturn the effect. He canceled the former world no.1’s visa for the second time and reinstated the ban.

Djokovic fought a long legal battle, and at the end had to leave the nation. They have brought changes in the system to help Djokovic get past the bars of Covid rule.
All he has to do is lodge an appeal and he will be free to participate in the Australian Open for his 10th title. However, according to sources, the 35-year-old, hasn’t taken any action regarding the same so far.
Furthermore, the new Prime Minister himself is a big fan of tennis. In fact, he was the one who initiated the talks of lifting the ban, as he didn’t want to compromise the standard of the tournament. Therefore, the Serb will most likely mark his presence in the 2023 edition of the Grand Slam.

After having a rough start, the World no.6, kept out of almost every tournament of the hard court season. He received a green flag only from the Dubai International Championships. Thereafter, the tournaments of the red dirt welcomed him. But as the Serb missed an array of events, his grip on the game took a hit and he failed to defend his title in the French Open.

However, Djokovic was successful in defending his Wimbledon title. He thrashed the Australian tennis ace, Nick Kyrgios, in the greens of London to claim his fourth consecutive trophy. Following that, just like Australia, America barred its three-time champion from playing in the US Open based on his vaccination status.
