Victoria Azarenka recently experienced a surge in her frustration levels. In her second-round match against Sara Sorribes Tormo, the Belarusian struggled to keep her calm, crying out with anger in the middle of the match. The Spaniard, who earned this spot after defeating Elina Svitolina, managed to gain another win, with a final scoreline of 7-6, 6-3.
However, amid the scare of losing the second set, Azarenka couldn’t contain her anger and therefore, turned her face towards the chair umpire, to raise a plea. According to Azarenka, her Spanish opponent was taking extensive breaks in between every point, which came out to be a trigger point for the 34-year-old.

The match which lasted for more than 2 hours and 20 minutes already, filled Azarenka with anger as her legs weren’t able to cope with the stress that the clay court expert served her with. Azarenka then ended up raising a serious plea towards the supervisor, asking to take a call regarding the 3-second breaks that her opponent consistently took between the points.
While her call was ignored because the breaks weren’t long enough to be charged, the Belarusian had to leave the court with sheer disappointment on her face. This defeat not only ignited discussions about the multiple complaints that Vika came up with but also ended her run for the Madrid Open title.
