These American players are two of the most promising WTA players who have persevered through old and budding talent to make a place for themselves on the WTA circuit. Now, the two are scheduled to have a face-off against each other in the fourth round of the US Open.
The $455,000 prize money comes with the ability to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the major. But looking back at the accumulated prize money of the two players till now, a new picture comes into place.
The ‘world’s richest player’ Jessica Pegula made her debut in 2009 and since then has bagged $10,215,768 as her career prize money. But if we see her competitor, Madison Keys, who made her debut the same year, has accumulated more earnings than Pegula. Till now, she has bagged $16,523,940.
Now, whoever wins the fourth round of the US Open will have $455,000 to add to their aforementioned earnings. However, if we see Pegula’s recent performance and her ranking, she has been outperforming Keys by a considerable number.

As mentioned above, Pegula is undoubtedly lagging a lot behind Keys in her on-court earnings. However, there has been a recent change in the players’ performances, changing the scenario that comes into the picture now.
Pegula struggled with her form in 2014 and then again in 2017. However, instead of giving up and relying on her parental $8 billion empire, she rose like a phoenix and regained her hold on the court. Now, Pegula ranks world no. 3 in the world and Keys has the modest ranking of world no. 17.
However, that is not the only thing that depicts the change in their players’ dynamics. Pegula has earned $3,800,412 this year, whereas Keys has $1,563,528. Though the duo still ties in having one singles title each, the two will fight hard to add a Grand Slam to their record.
