Madison Keys has always credited her husband, Bjorn Fratangelo, for his unwavering support, even admitting, “I have the most supportive, best husband in the entire world, who did not even want to coach me, and I was like, please! Come with me!” Since their wedding in November last year, Fratangelo has played a pivotal role in shaping her 2025 season, fine-tuning her game with key adjustments. Now, back at their wedding destination, Keys shared her most cherished memory from that magical day, leaving her fans swooning. But what special moment from her wedding did she reveal?
The current AO champion, Madison Keys, had to fight tooth and nail to secure her spot in the R16 of the ongoing Charleston Open. She faced a fierce battle against fellow American Caroline Dolehide, needing a staggering eight match points before finally sealing a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6(4) victory.
Keys held her nerve in the tie-break of the second set, marking her 20th match-win of the year. And right after the grueling match, the 30-year-old took a moment to shift her focus from tennis and reflect on something much closer to her heart: her favorite memory from her wedding night. Speaking to the Tennis Channel after the match, Maddie said, “I think my favourite think was just after we got married and we were just sitting and everyone was sitting waiting for dinner and you kind of look around and see all of your friends and all of your family from every single part of your life in one place for the first time ever and it was just a very cool moment to see every single person you care about our sitting just in one place. And knowing that you are going to be dance and have a great time with all of them,”

Well, in a heartwarming blend of love and tennis, Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo embarked on the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife on November 24, 2023, in the charming city of Charleston. The 2017 US Open finalist and current 6th seed Keys has been coached by Fratangelo since her early exit at Roland Garros last year. Fratangelo, a former junior Roland Garros champion and former ATP 99th seed, stepped away from full-time competition to become a coach.
Having begun their relationship in 2017 and currently cohabiting in Orlando, the pair marked their wedding with an intimate ceremony attended by numerous celebrities. In the company of family, friends, and a constellation of ATP and WTA stars, they tied the knot, with moments of happiness and mirth captured and distributed via social media in a quintessential tennis fairytale.
“Can’t put into words how amazing this day was. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with you @madisonkeys.” Fratangelo wrote on his IG, while Maddie captioned her own post, “Best weekend of my life, I love you @bjornfrat.”
While Keys recently reminisced about her favorite wedding moment, she also took a moment to reflect on her game following her hard-fought first-round victory at the Charleston Open.

“I got it done” —Madison Keys opens up after her win against Caroline Dolehide
Madison Keys has been riding a wave of success in the new season, capturing her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open with a commanding victory over Aryna Sabalenka. Although Sabalenka later halted her impressive 16-match win streak in the BNP Paribas Open SF, Keys remains a formidable force on tour.
Returning to Charleston for her 12th appearance, the 2019 champion improved her record on these iconic Har-Tru green clay courts to 21-10 after edging past Caroline Dolehide in a grueling battle. Following her victory, Maddie opened up about the physical and mental tests she faced against her fellow American player.
“I think [Dolehide] started playing some of her best tennis at the end, and I think I got a little bit passive, and then all of a sudden, seven match points later… The drama is escalating, and everyone just kinda wants to go home. But I got it done, and I get to come back out and play another match here. I’ve been coming here for more than the last decade, I love it here, [Bjorn Fratangelo and I] got married here, I always feel like this is one of my favorite places in the entire world, and I’m so happy to be back playing here,” the Australian Open champion said.
