The dynamic between Madison Keys and her boyfriend and coach, Bjorn Fratangelo, is indeed an intriguing topic. Especially as it is a blend of a personal relationship with a professional one. Noting this unusual event, the former professional, Andrea Petkovic, shared how this soon-to-be-married couple’s journey can be quite challenging. Referring to it as a “fire pit,”  Petkovic presented her candid thoughts on the matter during the Racquet’s Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast.

The former No. 2 in the ITF World Junior Rankings, Bjorn Fratangelo, has been dating Madison Keys for over seven years now. And last year, in March, they got engaged. But soon after that, Madison Keys made a significant change in her professional life. She requested her fiance take over her coaching duties, and Fratangelo obliged. Petkovic referred to this transformation and said, “This is always spicy when you’re in a relationship privately and the person is also your coach. It can be tough.”

She continued and added, “It can be like a, you know, a fire pit, or how do you call something that can explode, right? It can be that.” And as Petkovic said, the thought of the risk crossed Fratangelo’s mind too.
