It’s special as sometimes I need to remind myself that I am the tigress, and I need to fight till the end.” That’s what Aryna Sabalenka had to say when asked about the tiger tattoo on her left arm in 2019. Born in 1998- the year of the tiger- the Belarusian truly embodies its spirit with her powerful game. And now, she is taking that spirit off the court too. All thanks to her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis, who gave the ‘tigress’ the sweetest tribute.

Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend Georgios Frangulis is the founder of superfood brand Oakberry, famous for their smoothies and acai bowls. Since they started dating in early 2024, the World number 1 signed a two-year contract to become the ambassador of the brand. Now, they are taking their partnership one step further. How, you ask?

Well, on March 3, Oakberry announced a signature acai bowl named the ‘Tiger Bowl’ after the 3-time Grand Slam champion. The roaring flavour of the bowl consists of whey protein, peanut butter, and granola and is layered with strawberries on top for that sweet finish.

This is not the first time Oakberry has collaborated with Sabalenka. In August 2024, they had introduced the ‘Power Serve Bowl’ just before the US Open. The Belarusian, who usually serves aces, was out serving her signature acai bowl in Okaberry’s flagship New York store. The Power Serve Bowl had different ingredients. Instead of granola and strawberries, it contained chai pudding and cacao nibs.

Talking about her recent collaboration with Oakberry for Tiger Bowl, Sabalenka said, “I play with power and passion, and love how OAKBERRY continues to recharge and energize me. With Indian Wells and the Miami Open coming up, I’m excited to introduce my new signature Tiger Bowl that combines all the ingredients I love, custom-made to my taste and packed with the best nutrients. It unleashes an unmatched level of bold flavors and textures that will have fans inspired to dream big and go all in.”

The Tiger Bowl will be available in all the Oakberry stores in the US, and they have even offered a 30% discount for the bowl on their app specifically when the World No.1 plays at the Indian Wells and the Miami Open. So, let’s take a look at who she plays at those two iconic venues!

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka has an easy path at the Indian Wells

Aryna Sabalenka is looking to come off a disappointing Middle East swing. The World number 1 noticed a dip in her form after her dream of a historic three-peat at the Australian Open was crushed by Madison Keys in the finals. She suffered a surprise defeat in the second round of the Qatar Open, where Ekaterina Alexandrova got the better of her in three sets by 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). The Belarusian was later bested by eventual finalist Clara Tauson in the last 16 in Dubai. Sabalenka, interestingly, blamed it on feeling a “lack of hunger” after the Australian Open.

However, now the tigress is ready to roar again. She has a first-round bye at the Indian Wells before she faces the winner of Anna Blinkova and McKartney Kessler in the second round. The World number 1 will likely progress to the third round, where she will face either Magdalena Frech or Anhelina Kalinina.

The fourth round could see Sabalenka squaring off against her Qatar Open rival Ekaterina Alexandrova or Haddad Maia. Her quarterfinal clash could be challenging as she might face either Jasmine Paolini or Daria Kasatkina. A potential semi-final opponent could be World No. Coco Gauff with a possible showdown against one of her main rivals, Iga Swiatek, in the final.

Regardless of the result at Indian Wells, Sabalenka will continue to reign as the top WTA player. The Belarusian has a comfortable lead of 9076 points, with Swiatek trailing behind with 7985 points.

Aryna Sabalenka, the reigning US Open champion, has never won the Indian Wells, but she came close once in 2020, where she was defeated by Elena Rybakina in the final. Can the tigress turn around her luck this time and emerge the victor?
