Naomi will make her clay court return to the Madrid Open
Meanwhile, Naomi will make her clay court return at the Madrid Open. Interestingly, this is the first time she will be playing a clay-court event event since withdrawing from the French Open last year. Moreover, her form kind of went downhill after that withdrawal as she missed Wimbledon Championships immediately.
Because of her poor form, she suffered a massive ranking loss before the Sunshine Double. After a great showing at the Miami Open, Osaka gained points and is currently ranked 36th in the WTA rankings. The Japanese icon received a wild card to participate at the upcoming Madrid Open.
