“I try my best to pray every day with them no matter the circumstances,” Serena Williams wrote on Instagram yesterday, sharing pictures of Olympia. The 23-time GS champion’s unending love for her “min-mini” is no secret. Time and again, she’s confessed how much she is “obsessed” with both her daughters. Serena might be seen at a star-studded Oscars party at one point, rubbing shoulders with the A-listers of the entertainment industry, but what makes her really happy is the sheer joy of being close to her little ones. However, there are times when mama Williams feels “really lonely.” But why?

As a mother, Serena has always tried to be the best role model for her daughters. However, there was a time when she was scared of her own methods of nurturing. In a 2022 interview with Insider, before Adira was born, she admitted that “Mum guilt is real. I always feel so guilty when I’m doing something on my own,” she said. “I don’t know if my method works, but I’m very hands-on with my daughter. I’ve set really good boundaries. But then after work, I’m going right to my daughter.”

Now in a post on X, dated March 4, Serena has made an honest confession. It’s about her loneliness that she experiences during a specific time of the day – One where she’s detached from Olympia and Adira. I miss them so much when they sleep. That’s when I get really lonely. #mygirls,” the former World No. 1 wrote on X, revealing her emotions.

This confession comes just a day after her revelation that she always finds a way to ‘pray’ with Olympia and Adira. For the uninitiated, Serena was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, after her mother Oracene Price’s conversion to the Christian Denomination in the 1980s.

Back in 2017, after tying the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, she revealed how much faith meant to her. In an interaction with Vogue, she said, “Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it. Alexis didn’t grow up going to any church, but he’s really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first.” And now, she is instilling the same values into her daughters too, trying to ensure they grow up kind and generous.

Serena might miss her daughters during the night hours when they are asleep, but what about the time when her little ones are active? Well, they do end up giving her a hard time. Especially, the 18-month-old Adira!

When Serena Williams’ pantry tour got spoiled by Adira’s mischievous act

Last month, Serena Williams shared a string of stories on her Instagram. She gave her followers a tour of the pantry inside her house. And all that while, she was also busy making tea for herself. “I just pour the hot water over the tea leaves. I am going to make it strong today, so I’m not going to fill this tea up. And then you can already see it changing color.”

But suddenly, her entire attention turned to Adira. Guess what she was doing? Well, the adorable little tornado was caught indulging in a suspicious activity. Just when she was about to have her tea, Serena screamed, “Put that back! Hey! Hey, you! Yeah, you. Yeah, hey, put that back. Oh!” Adira somehow managed to take a box out of the drawer. And despite Serena telling her to put it back inside, the 18-month-old just threw it at her mother’s feet. Well, that’s also one aspect of parenthood, isn’t it? Such troubles are always inevitable when you are raising kids, and the Williams household is no different.

However, Serena’s love for her daughters outshines the chaos she has to face. She always tries to find as much time as she can to spend with her cuties, no matter what. Even if it means taking them to her workspace. Remember the moment from last month’s Super Bowl LIX? While Williams was part of the half-time show, showcasing her stylish dance moves, she still ensured she quickly got back to Adira. “In between meetings, I ran, took Adira to the zoo, and then I’m gonna go back to the office. Just a day in the life.

Later, she even took her to have a breather after a hectic Super Bowl experience. They were seen enjoying their time at the oceanside. While Williams sported a silver monokin with black spots, Adira shined in an adorable white suit. Sharing the moment on her IG account, mama Williams wrote, “My mini mini Adira Ohanian wanted to take a dip in the ocean. I could not say no.”
