From not knowing anything about tennis to watching it, Danielle Collins’ boyfriend came a long way. Now and then, he seems to appear on the court to support the 30-year-old American. Even during the Charleston Open, he was there by her side while she reached the finals of the tournament. Recently, Collins opened up about her boyfriend’s breezy personality, which just makes things better for her.
After winning the semi-finals against Maria Sakkari, in an interview with ‘Tennis Channel’, the American tennis player opened up about how everyone around her was obsessed with her boyfriend and complimented his amazing personality. She stated, “I mean Bryan’s awesome. He doesn’t know that much about tennis. This is like a whole new world to him; especially coming from the healthcare industry and being a college football player and never really following the tennis much.”
“So it’s been a learning process for Bryan, but Bryan’s personality and how level-headed he is and calm and just kind of go with the flow, life with Bryan is very easy, and always like a breath of fresh air to be around. I mean, I get so many compliments on Bryan all the time I feel like everybody in the tennis world is obsessed with Bryan.”

In fact, when they met, Bryan didn’t know she was a tennis player. Last summer, the player suffered a second-round loss to Belinda Bencic. After her exit, Collins did not leave London immediately. And that’s how she met Bryan in a coffee shop in London. She loved the fact that he didn’t already know her. Plus, she didn’t think it was a bad thing to have different interests.
Despite his lack of tennis knowledge, Danielle Collins has been talking about her partner a lot and recently revealed her hopes for their future together, making sure to keep their profound connection and common goals alive.

A few days ago, Danielle Collins revealed details about her boyfriend’s athletic history, including his time as a collegiate football player and his deep love of golf. She expressed a wish to play mixed doubles with him in the future, picturing a prolonged connection to the sport even after her retirement, even though she acknowledged that she only had a limited amount of time to teach him tennis.
Collins stated, “We just don’t really find enough time cuz we’re doing Golf and he’s also on my matches a lot and you know he’s working. But in the future, I’m hoping that we’ll play like maybe the husband-wife doubles like the USTA, you play for the gold ball. I explained to him that this is a big deal in the tennis world.” Along with that, she also highlighted how both of them are very competitive when it comes to going against each other in any sport, irrespective of their relationship.
The tennis player has revealed her plans for retirement. And while her biggest win, a WTA 1000 title in Miami, came only recently, it is not enough for her to rethink retirement. “No, but I think it’s really interesting how in a lot of different situations I have had to kind of justify the reasons behind retirement. I’m living with a chronic inflammatory disease that affects your ability to get pregnant, and so that’s, like, a deeply, like, personal situation. I’ve kind of explained that from time to time,” Collins explained.
