Alexis Ohanian, the husband of Serena Williams, lost his mother before he was married and had his daughter. She had opened his eyes to her culture and exposed him to a new world. Although she has passed away, the memories are still fresh in Ohanian’s mind. He recently took his elder daughter, Olympia, to an exhibit at the Epcot, where she learned about her grandmother’s culture. 

As he remembers the culture of his mother, Ohanian’s mind is also full of love for the culture of his father’s side. He also remembers the fight of his Armenian side and is quite proud to sustain it in his life.

The Epcot is a theme park at Disney World, which is a celebration of the world. It has many places for people to explore, but the heart of the show lies in the World Showcase. There are 11 pavilions representing Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom and Canada. The co-founder of Reddit recently took his daughter to show her around the cultures of the world.

His mother was from Hamburg, Germany, and passed away when she was 54. Although she never met her granddaughters, her son is doing his best to show them the history of their grandmother. He recently shared a picture where he’s holding Olympia in front of the Hamburg section of the Germany exhibit. He also shared the caption, “Jr never got to meet her Oma, but I appreciate the Epcot representation!

As Ohanian took his daughter to show her around her mother’s history, he has not forgotten his roots from the side of his father and is proud of their fight.

Ohanian on strong Armenian genes

Earlier this year, Serena Williams’s husband took his daughter to play golf with his father. He took her to a course that was designed by Tiger Woods himself and shared a picture of the day on his Instagram page. Olympia stood next to him, and one commenter wrote that Armenian genes are strong as she is quite tall for her age.

Ohanian was reminded of his Armenian side with the comments and said that they tried to bury them, but they were seeds. Ohanian referenced the Armenian genocide that took place from 1915-1923. He is proud of his father’s side of the family and is happy to see the same genes in his daughter. As he aimed to familiarize Olympia with her grandmother’s background, he is bound to take her on a tour of Armenian history.
