Venus and Serena Williams are different. No matter how much they have stayed together or have been each other’s best friends, both have evolved in very different manners. In 2009, the 23-time Grand Slam champion talked about her sister Venus Williams in an interview. She showed the contrast between the personalities of the two sisters by giving a hilarious example. Moreover, this also led people to be a part of their inner circle where they could see the difference between the two sisters’ personalities.

The younger sister always adored Venus Williams as she saw someone who was invested in growing. Whereas Serena might have had other alternatives which were not so ‘productive’.
Serena Williams on their contrasting personalities
The American tennis legends came as underdogs into the WTA realm. However, they did not stay underdogs for a long time as they slowly became the torchbearers of women’s tennis. They changed the face of tennis. Both on-court and off-court, the two players made sure to make people see what they were doing. However, off-court things were quite different. The younger sister was quicker and livelier while Venus took her sweet time with things. Serena Williams launched her book in 2009, ‘On the line’. Moving forward, as she talked about Venus, her admiration for her sister was quick to detect.

She said at Wimbledon, “Yeah, she’s really artsy and into smart things like learning languages and getting degrees.” Whereas, they both might not have very similar interests. Serena said, “I’m into Twitter, so. …” Indicating the obvious while trailing her voice, she said, “We’re quite different.”

Despite the differences, the two sisters revolutionized the sport. They made their say about equal pay for women tennis players and more tournaments for WTA players very loud and clear. And those circumstances shaped the face of today’s tennis.
Is the elder Williams retiring?
As their personalities, their career choices have also taken a very different turn. The younger Williams retired with glory this year. However, Venus Williams is hoping to get a wild card entry to the Australian Open. So, fans might be able to see the American tennis legend in the 2023 season on the hard court.

Moreover, in her personal life, she is enjoying the peace of her single life, whereas Serena is looking forward to expanding her family.
