In an exclusive interview with Telva, Badosa said, “She (Maria Sharapova) has inspired me a lot on and off the track; Since I was little, I wanted to look like her.” Today, Badosa has become an idol for the next generation of tennis and an icon in the fashion world. She further added, “It’s something very special. I’ve always said that I would like to transcend and go a little beyond tennis. The admiration that younger girls or boys may feel produces a lot of satisfaction.”

Before trouble began in her 2023 stint, Badosa was often compared to her idol, even in on court exploits. Fans and followers of the sport found many similarities between the two.
