Fans became quite disappointed after Naomi Osaka decided to take a break from tennis following the US Open 2021. The Japanese star stated that she needs some time off the court but didn’t reveal the amount of time for which she would be out of the sport.

Naomi Osaka last played at the US Open 2021. Unfortunately, she failed to defend her title in New York after losing to the Canadian rising star, Leylah Fernandez.

Naomi Osaka returns to the court after a long time

Osaka shocked the tennis world after recently posting a picture on her Instagram handle. In that, one can see her holding a tennis racquet as if she was about to practice on the court. The former World No.1 looks quite happy in the photograph as one can witness the big smile on her face.

Along with the post, Osaka also wrote a beautiful caption along with it. She thanked the fans for all their love and seems excited to make a comeback on the court.

“Kinda rusty but feels good to be back. I really want to say thank you everyone for all the kind messages, I really appreciate it,” wrote Osaka in the caption of her Instagram post.

Twitter explodes as Osaka makes a comeback

Fans are quite cheerful as they hope that Osaka is feeling mentally fit and fine now. It was during the French Open 2021 when she first opened up about her mental health issues and later withdrew from the Grand Slam because of them. Interestingly, she even withdrew from the Wimbledon Championships as she needed some more time to recover.

Some of the fans showed their love for the 4-time Grand Slam champion on Twitter. “Naomi Osaka back practicing again! Hope the last photo is a hint she will be at the Australian Open!” wrote a fan on Twitter.

Another one tweeted, “Naomi Osaka is back on the court and you love to see it!”

“Here for you always Naomi Osaka. Welcome back to the courts!” wrote a fan after Osaka’s return to the court.

It will be intriguing to see if Naomi Osaka plays a tournament this year or not. Will she be able to defend her title at the Australian Open next year?
