Naomi Osaka's fashion game is on point, but can she reclaim her tennis throne in 2025?

Naomi Osaka may not have clinched any titles this year, but she certainly captured fans’ hearts with her charm and positivity! After taking a break, for her pregnancy, she returned to the court this year, playing 37 matches and winning 20. Despite facing defeats in 17 matches, her unique style remains unmatched. Remember her stunning cosplay outfits at the US Open? She’s always a contender for “best dressed,” and her famous wit.

On November 14th, Osaka dazzled at the GQ Men of the Year Party 2024. The theme was American Rodeo, and she nailed it with a saloon-inspired Amiri outfit: a relaxed white shirt, a loose black leather necktie, and studded black trousers. Her long, blond-flecked braids and accessories—a black felt hat and tobacco-toned suede cowboy boots by Havva—completed her look.

While posing for photos, Osaka shared a humorous moment on TikTok that had everyone laughing. Sitting on a bar stool in front of a western-themed bar, she pretended to take a beautiful bottle of ‘SirDavis’ whiskey crafted by Beyoncé. Ultimately she decided against it but later, she posted a behind-the-scenes video! Captioning it, “I was genuinely thinking about stealing the bottle 😭Beyonce pls send me some 🙏🏼 #outfit,” playfully reaching out to the drink’s creator.

Although she didn’t snag the whiskey that night, she did win the title of ‘best dressed’ at the party from GQ’s global editorial director, Will Welch. He presented her with a medal, which she proudly shared on Instagram along with more photos from the event. When asked about winning this accolade, she quipped, “It feels great to win a medal this year.”

Osaka may not have taken home any titles this season, but she’s on track for a comeback. Currently training for the 2025 season with new coach Patrick Mouratoglou, she’s focused on recovery from a ruptured abdominal muscle injury sustained during the Asian swing. This injury kept her from competing in the Billie Jean King Cup this year. However, she’s maintaining her sense of humor and sharing her journey with fans!

Naomi Osaka‘s health has been a concern for fans since she withdrew from the season in October. In a statement from Tokyo, she revealed that a ruptured abdominal muscle prevented her from competing in the Billie Jean King Cup. “I thought I strained my back, but I did an MRI in Beijing and they said that I bulged a disc in my back and I also ruptured abdominal muscles,” Osaka explained to Japan’s Kyodo News agency. Thankfully, she is now focused on rest and recovery.

Despite these setbacks, Osaka shared a lighthearted glimpse into her fitness journey. On November 12th via Threads, expressing the struggles of training with humor, she wrote, “When the run was so difficult that you have to sit and think about your life afterward.” In another post, she shared a photo of an open road with the caption, “I thought it was over for me.” While her 2024 season didn’t go as planned, Osaka remains a formidable player with four Grand Slam singles titles and seven WTA Tour titles. Fans can look forward to her return in the 2025 season.
