Kim Clijsters’ advice for Iga Swiatek

Kim Clijsters was herself 20 years old when she became world no. 1 in 2003. She congratulated the polish player and commended her hard work and persistence. She admired Swiatek’s sole dedication towards the sport. Former world no. 1 said, “She’s had great results in the past, but she still wants to improve.” She liked Iga’s attitude toward the sport and encouraged her to be humble. Former world no. 1 disregarded being lenient after winning a grand slam or reaching the top. Furthermore, she encouraged continuity and persistence, along with being respectful and modest. Kim gave the example of Ashleigh Barty, who stayed grounded after climbing to the top spot.
