Imagine watching a tennis match with a member of the Royal Family! It’s a scenario most of us can only dream of, but for British tennis player Katie Boulter, it became a memorable reality. The British tennis star is all set to play against Emma Raducanu in the Nottingham Open semifinals. She has been on an impressive run in the tournament and is a promising contender for the title as well. Meanwhile, here is a time when she recalled watching a match beside a person who is now the Princess of Wales.

Recalling an iconic moment that took place at Wimbledon, Katie spoke about her encounter with Kate Middleton. Speaking to Tatler in 2023, the 27-year-old revealed that she watched the match with Catherine and highlighted her sporty nature. “She was cracking jokes… she was really enjoying the tennis,” Boulter recalled. The Brit went on to regard her as stunning and an amazing person to watch the sport with. “She was surprising… and absolutely stunning.” While this was not the first Royal encounter for Boulter, the Princess definitely impressed her with her love for tennis. This, however, was not the first Royal encounter for Katie Boulter.

In the same interview, the then-26-year-old revealed her experience when she first met the late monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Boulter met the Queen when she opened the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton in 2007. “I remember she asked if we still do schooling [alongside our tennis],” she recalled. Continuing further, Boulter said that while her answer was long, it was not as long as the next person in the line, who gave her complete address when asked about where she lived. “As if the Queen is going to pop round for tea,” Boulter laughed. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton’s love for tennis is not unknown either.

In the 2023 Wimbledon, she was spotted watching a match between Katie Boulter and Daria Saville on Court 18. She also returned to Wimbledon for the ladies singles final on July 14, 2023. Catherine is known not only for her presence at the grass courts but also for her attire. Last year too, she appeared in a Self-Portrait dress with short sleeves, a waist-defining belt, and a pleated midi skirt, similar to her previous appearances. Katie Boulter, meanwhile, is eyeing to defend her title at the Nottingham Open.

Katie Boulter’s ‘love for green’ is seconded by boyfriend Alex De Minaur too!

After a not-so-good French Open venture, it is time for Boulter to show her prowess on grass. The arrival of the grass-court season also means an opportunity for title defense at the Nottingham Open, where the 27-year-old has remained sensational so far.

Responding to her post, de Minaur commented with “🌱🏡” The Australian player had a remarkable time at the French Open having advanced till the Quarterfinals. Following his defeat against Alexander Zverev, he had expressed his excitement for the grass-court season. His excitement is well reciprocated by his performance so far. He is poised to take over Sebastian Korda in the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships finals on Sunday.

While the couple is on an impressive run on the grass so far this season, it will be interesting to see if they can do something spectacular at the Grand Slam as well. It will also be fascinating to observe if Kate Middleton continues to demonstrate her love for Wimbledon and returns to the court in July.
