In a picture shared by journalist and tennis commentator Jose Morgado, the billionaire can be seen with a gentle smile on his face after his daughter defeated her opponent in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. 

The post quickly captured the attention of tennis fans, who shared adorable remarks for Terry. Taking to X, several fans highlighted the simplicity that he possesses despite the immense fortune that he has garnered from several of his ventures.

Taking to X, one user highlighted the love that Terry’s emotions revealed. “Being a billionaire but watching your daughter work her ass off to earn her own money>>>>>” Remember, it is for the first time that Jessica Pegula would be playing a Grand Slam final. If she manages to win the tournament, she would amass a fortune of $3.6 M from the tournament. Even if she is outshined by Aryna Sabalenka in the finals, she would be returning home with $1.8M in her bank. While this can be a small amount compared to the fortune of Terry Pegula, the independence and happiness that Pegula would experience will remain unmatched.

Responding to the post, yet another user commented, “I love how people act like just cuz he gotta bunch of money he ain’t a normal dad lol.” For the unversed, Pegula’s father is a billionaire businessman besides being a petroleum engineer. He also owns multiple sports teams, including the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Just this week, Forbes estimated his net worth to be around $7.7 billion, a majority of which has been amassed through his oil and gas business. But despite this royal status, the simplicity and gentleness he depicted on the tennis court was worth noting. Similar reactions followed by other users as well.

Interestingly, the WTA star once revealed that her dynamics with her father are not very amicable on the tennis court. In an interview on the Bills Pod Squad podcast in September 2021, Pegula said, “Dad and I are like oil and water on the tennis court — it does not mix well.” However, she did not fail to laud the support she has received from her father.

 “But he definitely always pushed me to do better. To work hard, always work hard, you can always outwork somebody, all that type of stuff. He’s very old school.” This support was clearly evident on Terry’s face at the US Open as well. Yet another user joined the fray.
