Serena Williams tied the knot with Alexis Ohanian in the year 2017 and since then they have aided each other in their professional pursuits. Both Ohanian and Williams share similar interests and often rely on each other’s wisdom and backing. Speaking of which, recently they collaborated with a new entertainment technology startup along with the likes of renowned actor, Jennifer Aniston.

One of the major sectors in which they make discussed decisions is business investments. The couple is knee-deep in the market and is, in a way, breaking into every upcoming futuristic idea.

Serena Williams joins the Invisible Universe

The 23-time Grand Slam champion is currently on her retirement tour. Even so, she is dedicated to the functioning of Serena Ventures. Williams partnered with Invisible Universe via a series of funding rounds led by Seven Seven Six, her husband’s investment firm this month. The company raised a total of 12 million by the end of the session.

Invisible Universe is an internet-first animation studio that develops original character IP on different platforms. Earlier they designed NFT based animated character franchise of Williams‘ four-year-old’s treasured doll, Qai Qai. Qai Qai was a big hit and recently, actress Taikirha Miller joined as the doll’s voice in the upcoming YouTube series.

Further, Emmy winning actress Jennifer Aniston is also on board as an investor and advisor to the company. “It’s just been so much fun to develop Clydeo with the Invisible Universe team, inspired by my own dog Clyde, who is such a character himself and has been making me and my friends laugh for almost 10 years now,” she said. In the case of digital media guidance, it will rely on organizations such as Dapper Labs and Cosmic Venture Partners.

Serena Ventures, making an impact

The seven-time Wimbledon champion’s investment firm is amongst the rising leaders in the industry. The firm is in affiliation with over 60 startups and in March of this year, they raised a humongous sum of 111 million dollars.

Further, the 40-year-old is now a board member of Momentive, SurveyMonkey’s parent company. SurveyMonkey is a free online survey tool which helps capture the opinion and demands of people with ease. Also, earlier this year she took the role of advisor in Sorare, an NFT company.
