While there is a frequent debate about the GOAT in the tennis world, the rap world is no exception. In tennis, the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are often the centerpieces of attraction as far as the greatest of all time is concerned. Likewise, in the rap world, there is a strong fight between the likes of Lil Wayne and Drake to be the best of the best. So much so that they even had a co-headlining concert tour, Drake vs. Lil Wayne, back in 2014. As the debate for the GOAT has heated up in this field, tennis star, Jelena Ostapenko, has picked her favorite among the two.

The Latvian tennis star is currently in England where she is playing in the Eastbourne Open. During an interview with Tennis Channel, Ostapenko was asked about her experience at Drake and Lil Wayne’s concert. Excited as ever, Ostapenko mentioned, “When it was Drake, I was just standing. I was not dancing much. When Lil Wayne came out I was dancing every single song.”

Lil Wayne came across Ostapenko’s interview in which she put him above Drake. With a heart full of gratitude, Lil Wayne took to Instagram and shared Ostapenko’s interview on his story, writing, “Thanks for da luv @jelena.ostapenko.” It was a perfect return gift for Ostapenko, who became a fan girl of the rapper ever since she attended his concert.

Ostapenko enjoyed Lil Wayne and Drake’s show in Sunrise, Florida where she had the time of her life and became a fan of the former. After that concert, she described that she enjoyed Weezy‘s part of the live show more than Drizzy’s set, describing it as ‘way better.’ Subsequently, she frequently listens to Lil Wayne’s songs and is left impressed by him. However, he is not the only one that Ostapenko prefers listening to.

Jelena Ostapenko is also a fan of 50 Cent

The Latvian tennis star likes listening to music during her free time. She has experimented with many different artists and bands but only has a few on her list of favorites. While Lil Wayne is one among them, Ostapenko also likes listening to the songs of the American rapper, 50 Cent.

During the same interview, Ostapenko told Prakash Amritraj, “50 Cent, I like 50 Cent yeah too. There was a concert last year in Riga but I wasn’t there so I was really sad that I couldn’t go. Hopefully, he will come soon or maybe I’ll be in some city where he will have a concert.”

While Ostapenko rued missing the concert of 50 Cent, attending it has been on top of her bucket list. However, for now, tennis commitments will top her priority list with the Wimbledon Championships coming up. Ostapenko is playing in both singles as well as doubles at the Eastbourne Open and has won the opening-round contests in both formats. It’ll be interesting to see how she fares at the upcoming grass-court Grand Slam tournament.
