Penko has got real swag! Jelena Ostapenko loves power, pace, and all things fast. That’s the hallmark of her game style. But having said that, it isn’t just confined to the boundaries of the court. She loves a bit of an adrenaline rush, and when you’re in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, well, there is already much to offer! This tournament offers a brand-new Porsche to its champion every year. At home, the Latvian tennis star already has a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and talking about her love for speed after her R32 match, she admitted, “I love to drive fast. I also took extreme driving courses where they teach you how to drift and stuff. I hope the Latvian police aren’t watching!” Now, after finally managing to secure yet another ‘beast’ after beating Aryna Sabalenka in the final, Ostapenko was spotted flaunting her insane driving skills.

After defeating Iga Swiatek in the QF and Ekaterina Alexandrova in the SF, Jelena Ostapenko said, “I always knew my game was there. I always believed in myself, and that’s the most important thing. I believe I can beat everyone.” She stuck to her word when it came to facing the world number one in the finals of the 2025 Stuttgart Open. Ostapenko had previously failed to secure a victory in her last three meetings against Sabalenka, but this time she managed to beat her comfortably by a 6-4,6-1 margin.

Interesting Fact: This is Ostapenko’s ninth WTA Tour title and her first title on clay since her Roland Garros triumph in 2017.

Ostapenko hit 21 winners against eight unforced errors and broke Sabalenka six times in this match. It is also the fifth time she has won a WTA 500 event and her first since Linz last year. Following this incredible title triumph in Stuttgart, Jelena Ostapenko was spotted flaunting her new brand car by driving it straight through the tunnel and entering the iconic Porsche Arena. She was also spotted showcasing her driving skills by steering the car with one hand and waving at her fans with the other hand. Insane!

With this win, she has now also become the third player, after Madison Keys and Mirra Andreeva, to beat the Top 2 ranked players in the same tournament. Here’s what she said after bagging this stunning car and a hefty $164,002 prize money: “Thank you so much for this atmosphere here. It’s amazing. I just love to play here.” She further added, “I’m really happy today,” and then went on to address Sabalenka by taking a hilarious dig at her for finally managing to win the car, despite Sabalenka’s long wish. In her post-match press conference, Sabalenka said, “I want to congratulate Jelena and her team on a great week. You played really great this week and you were a better player than me today. That’s just about it. Well done and enjoy driving this beautiful car! I’m glad I can afford this car. After this final, we’re gonna order one because I guess this is the only way for me!” After that, she joked, “I lost three finals here against No. 1s. So I was, like, ‘Okay I have to do it.
