Serena Williams is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport. Days later, yesterday, Serena opened up on how she processed the whole happening. She also spoke about what went through her mind and beyond.
The thinking process of Serena Williams
Serena recently attended a virtual interview with Bloomberg along with her venture partner Alison Rapaport Stillman. Talking about Serena Ventures, Williams was questioned as to how did she process the mistake by the New York Times.
Taking the question with pride and confidence, Serena started by opening up on her struggle and the way she processed the whole happening. She said, “I have been through a lot in my career and in my life, and I don’t let one thing tick me off too much. For me, I processed it as an opportunity to use it to let other people know that you’re not the one being overlooked.”

She further went on elaborating on the reason behind raising Serena Ventures. The 23-time Grand Slam champion made sure to emphasize the need to change the narrative.
“Also, let people know that this is why I’m raising Serena Ventures. This is why I want to make an impact, because we need people like me. People like Alison (Rapaport Stillman) and like our team at Serena Ventures, to be writing the big cheques, to change that narrative,” added Williams.
Serena Williams emphasized the need to change the narrative
Serena Williams is one of the few athletes who has been highly vocal about racial discrimination in the existing society.
Re-visiting her tweet for the media house, she once again focused on nothing but the need to change the narrative. She asserted that she didn’t think even for a second before putting out the tweet.
“We don’t have to be overlooked and just thought and just say, okay, let me just post this as fast as I can. I’m not even going to think about it because it really doesn’t matter to me. So, it’s really about changing their narrative. I think that’s so important because.. if you have a platform to talk about and discuss it, then it needs to be discussed.”
