While many assumed that Olympia Ohanian, the daughter of 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams, would pick up a tennis racket, she has chosen a different path. Instead of the tennis court, Olympia is making waves on the golf course. Recently, the Ohanian family took a special trip to the golf course. This outing wasn’t just about Olympia’s budding skills, but also about family time. Alexis’ father, Chris Ohanian, joined them, making it a three-generation bonding experience. Now, Alexis is sharing just how special these golf moments are with his daughter.
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have always encouraged Olympia to explore different interests. Even at a young age, she has already tried various activities. Back in 2019, when she was just two, Alexis told Glamour magazine, “We’re raising what I hope will be an overachieving and strong daughter.”

The Reddit co-founder, a firm believer in work-life balance, often speaks about how he juggles his career and fatherhood. On his podcast, ‘Business Dad’, he interviews successful men about how they balance work and being a dad. And he has shared a short clip of one of his episodes on his Instagram story.
It is when, in July 2024, he had The Office star Rainn Wilson on the show. During a discussion on how people are tied to technology, Alexis shared how his time on the golf course with Olympia is a much-needed break.
“I’ll do daddy-daughter golf lessons. So Sundays, we have a few hours. I don’t have my phone. Maybe I’ll take a couple of videos of her swing. That’s it. You know, 99.999% of the time it’s actually not that urgent and you know every now and then it is and I’m like I’m really sorry,” he said.
For Alexis, missing a moment with Olympia because of a distraction is painful. “It can feel like a knife in the heart,” he admitted. His words highlight the importance he places on being present.

Turning Reddit into a success story wasn’t easy, but he never let it take away from his family time. When Serena Williams faced health struggles after giving birth, Alexis was right by her side. He even took 16 weeks of paternity leave when Olympia was born. And despite his packed schedule, he still finds time to be the “papa pancakes” for his daughters. To make work-life balance possible, the 41-year-old has clear boundaries.

He recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at his workspace on Instagram. “I even have a red light out here. I’m in recording, maybe, doing an interview, that red light is on, and folks know, like, don’t come in. My promise to my family is, when I’m on the clock between 8 and 6 p.m, unless it’s an emergency, don’t expect to hear from me. Because I am all in on work. Board meetings, meetings with my team at Seven Seven Six—I need that ability to lock in,” he said. However, Alexis isn’t just about work.
When the clock stops, he is fully present for his family. “When I am off the clock, is I’m all in best I can be. At the dinner table every night, asking the girls about their day. That’s how I try to separate it. When you’re in there you should be able to focus to work and able to do your best work. Choose your own adventure, Good Luck.”
And sometimes, fatherhood and business mix. Olympia and her baby sister, Adira, are already part of the sports business world. They are co-owners of the Los Angeles Golf Club, making Olympia the youngest owner of two professional sports teams. In addition, they are also involved in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s tech-infused golf league, TGL.
