Iga Swiatek‘s dominant run on clay continues to go on. Having made yet another final, she is looking to clinch yet another clay court glory at the Italian Open. However, standing her way will either be Danielle Collins or Aryna Sabalenka. Having played Aryna multiple times, she is very well known for her gameplay. But, Collins is someone who will pose a sincere threat to her.
While the two have not faced each other on clay court ever, this will be their first-ever meeting between the two But, for Swiatek, it seems like she doesn’t really care to bother much about who her opponent in the final will be. After stunning Coco Gauff in straight sets, Iga Swiatek, in the post-match conference was asked about Danielle Collins who has been a threat on the court for quite some time now. However, for Swiatek, she knows her game really well.
Sparking her views about Collins, she suggested that even though she hasn’t watched or played against her, she knows that she plays her game really well. While acknowledging that she can be a great threat on the court, Iga Swiatek suggested that it would not change the fact that she won’t play her usual game. With always a plan B with her, she is confident of facing anyone in the final irrespective of their current form.

“Well, first of all, I haven’t watched her matches on clay, and we never played on clay. I don’t know honestly how she plays. I would need to prepare tactically. Overall I think she’s pretty unpredictable, sometimes her decisions. When she’s feeling great, she has a great game. What can I say? Really she won against top players already sometimes in her career,” said Iga Swiatek in the post-match presser.

Yeah, she’s just dangerous. That doesn’t change the fact I can still play my game. On clay I feel like I always have Plan B. No matter who’s going to win this semifinal, I think it’s going to be exciting anyway, and a challenge, for sure,” said Swiatek in the post-match interview.
Thus, ahead of the highly anticipated final, Iga Swiatek believes that while Danielle Collins might be in the best of forms, she is confident of facing her in a gripping finale. However, while talking about her semi-final win against Coco Gauff, she suggested that she would play her best tennis yet again in the finals and try to win against whoever it is.
