The year 2024 has been a very special one for Danielle Collins. Having announced right at the start that this will be her last year on the professional circuit, Danimal has found her best form and does not know any stopping. Having won the Miami Open and the Charleston Open a few weeks back, she came into the Madrid Open with high hopes. However, she could only make it past the round of 16. But, she seems to have left it all behind and has come into the Italian Open with nothing but the title in sight.
Having made her way into the round of 16, she looks in fine form and nothing at the moment seems to stop her. However, as she made her way into the final 16, another record followed her along the way. With her win against Caroline Garcia, she made it 15 wins in WTA 1000 matches this year out of 18 matches.
With this, she joined an elite list dominated by the Williams sisters. She is now only behind the incredible Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams as they are the only American players who have a better record than the 30-year-old player (when it comes to winning the fastest 15 matches in the Masters WTA 1000 events).

However, her final year on tour seems to only get better and better. While she is still playing in the Italian Open, she would be looking to win her second Masters 1000 title of her career. But, in doing so, she is breaking every record that comes her way. Just a month ago, she managed to win the Miami Open title and the Charleston Open. While this was a completely magical moment for her, she also managed to tie with Serena Williams on yet another record.
