Iga Swiatek reclaims the title in Rome after missing it for a year. The tennis fans held tight to their seats as the Italian Open unveiled another showdown between the world no.1 and Aryna Sabalenka. While the Belarusian had a golden opportunity to complete her revenge for the loss in Madrid, her opponent’s dominance completely disrupted the balance.

Swiatek showcased true levels of dominance in her final match against the Australian Open champion. While their rivalry is turning out to be one of the most discussed topics in the tennis world lately, Swiatek cleared the debate by serving her opponent with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat. As the score suggests, Sabalenka seemed to be struggling hard against the Pole, as she didn’t allow any notable spots where she could turn the odds.

While Swiatek managed to take possession of the lead right from the start, it somehow made Sabalenka lose her cool. The Belarusian couldn’t contain her frustration and therefore turned toward the chair umpire Marija Cicak to blame him for being strict on timings. “What’s your mood today? You’re like, so strict on the time,” she argued. The official took it calmly and therefore tried to solve her doubts by assuring her that it was her usual behavior.

Besides the small argument with the chair umpire, Sabalenka seemed to be turning furious as she shot the ball with full power in a way that Swiatek had to dodge it somehow. While there were plenty of signs to prove the fact that Sabalenka lost her cool with the disappointing defeat, she managed to be back in her senses just minutes after the match.

Soon after facing a defeat against the world no.1, Sabalenka held the stage and was seen carrying a big smile on her face. Getting back to her regular fun nature, the Belarusian shared the defeat with her team. “Of course last but not least I wanna thank my team for helping me lose another final,” she said, lashing out at her team in a fun way.

Sabalenka, who is known to have adorable chemistry with her coaching team, used their support to stand stronger, even after closely missing out on another clay-court title. Now that she finally had to walk way with the defeat, it still remains to be seen if she manages to come back stronger next time.
