Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka recently revealed her admiration for Gauff and with that, she also left an adorable message that concerned her newborn daughter, Shai.

Osaka is currently recuperating from childbirth. However, she is keen to make a comeback soon as she misses the thrill of the sport and her fans. But in the meantime, she has been happily cheering for Coco Gauff in her US Open swing.

The Japanese tennis player has her own tennis legacy to claim with pride. With four Grand Slam titles, Osaka herself has inspired multiple young tennis players to follow her lead. Now, as she sees Coco Gauff making a name for herself with her astounding run at the semi-finals of the US Open, she has nothing but admiration for her.

In an ESPN interview, the new mom stated, “I’m always really proud of everything she does. She seems like such a good person.” Furthermore, Osaka hailed Gauff’s take on things happening outside of the court. She added, “Everything she’s doing & speaking out about so many different topics. It’s something I’d love to have my kid to look up to as a role model.” Finally, she concluded with a sweet message, “Seeing her doing well in her home Grand Slam is really cool. I cheer for her every match she plays.”

In a recent interview with SBJ, she hailed Gauff’s skills on the court: “I think she has an amazing head on her shoulders, I think she has a great vision of the game, and she also has this amazing voice as a young woman for change. She’s created a platform for herself.” Apart from that, she also hailed her sound approach when it comes to expressing her thoughts.
