Coco Gauff dances to the beat of Roland Garros! The 20-year-old recently stunned her quarter-final rival Ons Jabeur to secure a position in the semi-finals. Along with securing a major spot, the WTA star also touched several notable feats that etched her name in the history books. While there were multiple reasons to celebrate, Gauff decided to express her happiness in the Aryna Sabalenka way.

Recently, Roland Garros’ official Instagram account shared a video in which Coco Gauff can be seen shaking a leg to an unheard beat. While she was stepping down from the glorious Philippe Chatrier staircase, she dropped her kit on the ground and performed a victory dance. Along with the funny video, the post also included an engaging caption that said, “Coco has joined the dance challenge 💃”

“Okay there isn’t music,” Gauff says and then pumps her arms, followed by the floss. “Wooooh, semi-finals!” Gauff laughs, “Next time I need music, okay?” Although she faces World No. 1 Iga Swiatek for the 12th time with a 10-1 H2H record, the young American remains positive!

This dance session wasn’t a trend started by Gauff but actually a continuation of what was initiated by Aryna Sabalenka. Recently, the same Instagram account shared another clip in which Aryna Sabalenka was seen stepping down from the same staircase. Being herself, she didn’t waste a moment and therefore started to catch the beat. However, this wasn’t the only highlight captured in the clip.

Instead of limiting all the fun to herself, the Belarusian was also seen pulling “The minister of happiness” Ons Jabeur to join her in the fun dance session. The Tunisian also didn’t fail the Australian Open champion’s vibe check and started to co-ordinate with her in the dance.

Coco Gauff, meanwhile, took up the challenge solo, clear her heads amid intense competition. However, this wasn’t the first time when Aryna Sabalenka started the thread of a dance challenge in the tennis world.

Aryna Sabalenka’s quirky way of warming up for Roland Garros

Out of all the things that Aryna Sabalenka is known for, her quirky nature is beloved. While other WTA stars found themselves under immense pressure as they prepared for the clay court major, the Belarusian took a different road. Just days before her first match in Paris, Sabalenka shared a video on Instagram in which she can be seen on the red dirt with her coaching team. While everyone was busy with their own drills, the Australian Open champion started dancing and her team joined. Along with the engaging video, she also shared a caption that said, “Warming up for @rolandgarros like…”

Sabalenka is currently proving to be quite dominant on her run for the title. Now that she’s looking forward to the upcoming showdown against the young prodigy Mirra Andreeva, it still remains to be seen if she will be able to take down the in-form youngster.
