Is Coco Gauff's influence off the court overshadowing her tennis achievements?

Coco Gauff has become nothing short of a tennis sensation, leaving fans awestruck every now and then as she continues to make waves in the sport—all before hitting 21! Her remarkable talent and tireless dedication have earned her more than just titles; Gauff is a magnet for admiration, brand partnerships, and high-profile features. But this time, the latest recognition to come her way has left the player surprised and put an extra gleam in her smile.

The American tennis sensation is currently at her home in Florida, gearing up for the WTA Finals set to go underway next week in Riyadh. Amid her preparations, she was recently left surprised by Tyler, the Creator’s new single ‘Thought I was Dead’s lyrics – which feature the star’s name subtly hinting at her incredible serving skill. In complete awe, Gauff took to Instagram to share her happiness with her fans.

The third released track of the upcoming album, ‘Chromakopia,’ included a reference to Gauff that left her at a loss for words. Gauff posted the original video from Tyler, the Creator’s Instagram post on her story and wrote, “Me finishing practice to being mentioned on a Tyler song. This is absolutely insane.” She also responded in the comment section of the original video expressing her gratefulness and wrote, “me waking up today on Tyler song wtf.”

In the track released by the American rapper on October 26, Coco Gauff‘s tennis prowess takes center stage. Around the 28-second mark, fans can hear Tyler rapping, “B**ch, you ain’t Coco Gauff, you can’t serve me.” This surprise of Gauff, meanwhile, is justified given she has been a noted follower of the singer as has been evidenced from her past participations.

The 20-year-old took time from her intense schedule last year after the WTA Finals to attend a carnival by Tyler that took place in California. She shared several pictures from the outing on her Instagram from the Camp Flog Gnaw carnival and wrote, “I went to Camp.”  The latest honor, meanwhile, would definitely increase her fondness for music about which she has spoken on several occasions in the past.

Have an interesting take?

Coco Gauff’s love for music is not unknown to her fans. In a video for USTA, Gauff revealed that she loves listening to music while doing anything, and this increases even more when she trains at the gym.

I just like to listen to music, while doing whatever I’m doing. Yeah, I mean, the bike is calming. It gets repetitive for me, so I do switch it up, between the treadmill and the bike but, as long as I have music, I think it’s the most relaxing,” Gauff said in the video. Her passion for music came to light again as she celebrated her US Open victory by visiting a musical concert by d4vd.

In the video she shared on her Instagram from the concert, the singer can be heard singing Romantic Homicide. Gauff, too, joined him, giving a hint of her brilliant knowledge of popular songs. For now, it would be interesting to see what lies ahead for the star player. Is she going to have a music video, too? What are your thoughts?
