Madison Keys looks unstoppable at the moment! The 2025 AO champion has now become the fifth woman aged over 30 in the Open Era to secure a 15-match winning streak at the Tour level. Keys is currently the last American woman standing at the 2025 Indian Wells Open. She’s now all set to face resurgent mom Belinda Bencic in the QF.
After securing her spot in the QF, Bencic said, “This is why you’re practicing and working hard all your life.” She has now advanced into the last eight of the Indian Wells for the second time following her 2019 SF run. Can Bencic stop Keys’ incredible run by forcing a massive upset in this tournament?

Madison Keys vs Belinda Bencic: Preview
Madison Keys had a dream run at the Australian swing, winning titles in Adelaide and Melbourne. She has continued that run in Indian Wells as well. After securing a comfortable victory in R64, Keys clinched victory from the jaws of defeat in the next two rounds. She took 2 hours and 18 minutes to beat the Croatian star, Donna Vekic, in the R16 by 4-6,7-6(7),6-3. Time will tell! However, she first needs to overcome the Swiss challenge in the QF. Belinda Bencic defeated America’s Coco Gauff by 3-6,6-3,6-4 in just 2 hours and 20 minutes in the previous round. With this win, she has now reached her first WTA 1000 QF since becoming a mother. Bencic has also clinched a title (Abu Dhabi Open) this season, but it’ll be interesting to see if she can beat the 2022 quarterfinalist in her next match.
Keys vs Bencic: Head-to-Head

Prediction: Keys will win this match in three sets
Madison Keys will take her winning streak to 16! Yes, that’s our prediction for this match. First and foremost, it’s because of her incredible form. She has made it to the QFs (at least) in each of her tournaments this season. Her incredible run in the last few months has made her a crowd favorite, and with no other American woman present in this tournament, the Californian crowd will surely raise the decibels for this 30-year-old tennis star. Can Belinda Bencic withstand that enormous pressure?
Well, if we look at their numbers, Keys (5) has a win-loss record of 17-1 this season, while on the other hand, Bencic (58) has recorded 15-4. Since both of these players have played some really good tennis this year, we’re expecting this match to go to three sets before we eventually have our winner.
Talking about their playing styles, Benic has an all-court game. She loves playing an aggressive brand of tennis. Bencic has a strong first serve, but her second serve is on the weaker side. Talking about serves, well, she has hit 24 aces this season but committed 47 double faults already! Other than her serves, the Swiss can also turn defense to offense swiftly, and she also has well-placed lob and drop shots in her armory.

Conversely, Madison Keys is known for her big first serve and powerful forehand. Plus, she already has quite a few aces (88) this season! It will be interesting to see how many more she adds to that tally by the end of this tournament. If we take a closer look at her playing style, Keys is an aggressive baseline, and she’s often seen heavily relying on her groundstrokes to win points. She loves dictating the rallies from the baseline, and we feel her incredible tactical acumen will provide her an edge in this epic battle against Belinda Bencic.
That’s all for our predictions for the upcoming match. Pick a favorite and let us know your thoughts in the comments below too!
