You know Belinda Bencic, right? She came back last October after having her baby. And get this, she’s already winning titles! She crushed it in Abu Dhabi, and now she’s going for it again at Indian Wells. Her first match was wild, all windy, and she still killed it. Now she’s up against Amanda Anisimova, who’s also won a title this year. It’s gonna be a total showdown. So who has got it this time around?
Belinda Bencic vs Amanda Anisimova: Preview
Belinda Bencic has been in red-hot form this year. She will be entering this contest following her emphatic victory in the battle of two tennis moms in the previous match. She defeated the German star, Tatjana Maria, by 6-1,6-1 in just 65 minutes in the first round.

Amanda Anisimova won the Qatar Open this year, but after that, it was a complete flip at the subsequent tournament, the Dubai Tennis Championships. She’ll be entering this match, following her 2-6,3-6 defeat to her compatriot McCartney Kessler in the R64 in Dubai.

Prediction: Bencic will win this contest in three sets
Since making her return to the tour, Belinda Bencic has dropped only one set in eight matches against opponents ranked outside the WTA’s Top 50. Her dominating performance against the number 87, Maria was just an example of how lethal she has been recently on the Tour. Bencic has reached 12 hard-court finals in her career so far and won 7 titles. So, considering all these factors, I feel she might just have a slight edge against the American in this match. It’s not as easy as one might think!
If we look at the numbers, Bencic (58) currently has a win-loss record of 13-4 in this season. On the other hand, Anisimova (18) has recorded just 9-4 in 2025. Do numbers tell the whole story?
Talking about their playing styles, Amanda Anisimova is an aggressive baseliner. She loves hitting powerful groundstrokes from both wings. Her two-handed backhand shot is one of her lethal weapons. Apart from that, her nimble footwork and her ability to secure points in longer rallies make her a really tough one to beat. She is one of the finest returners of the serve, but her serves have been a bit shaky this year. She has hit 29 aces but committed 49 double faults as of now.

Her opponent in this match, Belinda Bencic, has also struggled with her serves this season. She has already committed 47 double faults, and guess what? Bencic failed to hit even a single ace in her previous match, but she committed 3 double faults. Bencic has an all-court game, and she loves playing an aggressive brand of tennis. She has a strong first serve, but her second serve is on the weaker side. Bencic can turn defense to offense very swiftly, and she also has good lob and drop shots in her armory.
Despite the home crowd advantage for Amanda Anisimova, I think Belinda Bencic’s current form gives her the edge. However, I expect Anisimova to put up a real fight and push this match into three sets.
