The tennis phenom Coco Gauff gave an inspirational talk about the meaning of life and success. Gauff is just twenty years old, yet her observations are wise beyond her years. Amid her birthday week this year, Gauff appeared in an online interview with the Russian-born Australian tennis player Daria Saville, where among other things, she talked about her idea of ‘the victory of life’.

In a conversation with Saville, Gauff acknowledged that age is not always a direct indicator of wisdom or life experience. At least that is not the case with her. She shared her insights on how each individual’s journey is unique and how there is not only one definition of maturity that fits everyone.

Coco Gauff’s honest statement emphasized the universal truth that maturity is influenced by one’s life experiences and lessons learned along the way, rather than just being old. Through her admission of her own ‘oldness’ at a young age, Gauff challenges us to reevaluate our assumptions about childhood and adulthood. “I mean, at 20, I feel old. Everyone tells me I’m not; I have a lot of life to live,” she said in the interview.

According to her, success is a path of self-improvement on which there are opportunities for growth and development every day. Resilience and tenacity are important qualities in life and athletics, and this viewpoint is in line with her idea of ‘victory’ in life.

“I think the meaning of victory for me is when you leave the court and you feel like you improved that day, and the victory of life, I think, is just getting out of tough situations and realizing that bad moments doesn’t last forever and you have so much life to live”, Coco Gauff further added.

This is not the first time that Coco Gauff has shared her experience of the transition from her teenage years to adulthood. Earlier this year, she opened up about the challenges of moving to the next stage in her life.
