Hailey Baptiste, on the other hand, is coming to the tournament after a semifinal finish at the Puerto Vallarta Open. The 22-year-old player has now brushed aside the likes of Clara Tauson and Daria Snigur to reach the round of 128 fixtures.

The round-of-128 match between Robin Montgomery and Hailey Baptiste at the BNP Paribas Open will also mark their third meeting on the WTA circuit.

In both their previous encounters at the Puerto Vallarta Open and the W25 Boca Raton, Baptiste defeated her compatriot and currently has a 2-0 lead in their H2H record.
