Luck has always been a universal factor in all areas of life. Even in the world of tennis, luck works as a major factor when it comes to moving ahead in peace. Tata Moore, the tennis star who was banned from entering the court because of failing a doping test, was recently cleared of all the allegations.

While the British tennis star received a positive outcome in the end, her remorse for losing 19 months of her professional tennis career has been a highlighted concern lately. Jannik Sinner’s coach recently came forward to back the Briton.

Hours after the authorities cleared Tara Moore of all charges of doping and consumption of banned substances, coach Darren Cahill voiced his concern over the slow recovery process for British player Tara Moore. Known for his excellent career of guiding tennis stars like Andre Agassi and Jannik Sinner, the coach used his worth to back the 31-year-old.

“This timeline is so bad. It’ll take Tara 18-24 months to recover her rankings if everything goes perfectly. Tennis is a unique sport where we are wiped out & back to zero after 12 months. The WTA should reinstate her rankings or at the very least provide provisional rankings,” Cahill posted, asking the authority to make the right decision.

Moore, who was once ranked as Britain’s top women’s doubles player had to go through a 19-month suspension after she failed a doping test in May 2022. The ban was recently removed as it was proved that the consumption of contaminated meat was the reason behind Moore’s positive test.

While the tennis star is now freed of all charges, Cahill’s move of asking the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) to either restore or provide provisional rankings to Moore acted as a hope to make a difference.

Legends concerned over Moore’s situation

While the situation of Tara Moore is no doubt a point where any tennis player would never wish to be standing, several experienced entities came forward to provide moral support. Judy Murray, a Scottish tennis coach and mother of tennis star Andy Murray, recently expressed her thoughts as she heard about the update. “So happy to see Tara Moore cleared by an independent panel after testing positive for anabolic steroids boldenone + nandrolone during WTA Bogotá in April last year, “ said Judy.

However, along with sharing her feelings to see the Briton be freed of the allegations, the coach also expressed regret on her situation of losing 19 precious months as she added, “Tara had just broken into top 100 and become the British #1 doubles player. 19 months is a long time to lose at any stage of a players career and you can’t put a price on the emotional + financial stress involved in clearing your name.”
