Tennis fans, wake up! The new Rick Macci tweet has arrived! The former coach of Venus and Serena Williams loves to drop snippets from his coaching days. Aside from his predictions, the USPTA inductee is known for dropping the Williams sisters’ content from the past. In fact, the majority of his following is down to the two sisters.
Macci coached the Williams sisters from 1991 to 95 before their father Richard took over. He saw Venus and Serena Williams through thick and thin. The 68-year-old also followed their paths closely throughout their careers to know more than enough about the sisters. In his recent tweet, the former coach made some stunning revelations about the Williams sisters.

According to Macci, the sisters had immense love for each other. There was no form of jealousy or fight between the two. However, when practising against each other, they showed a different side.
Macci said,” @serenawilliams was a little sister like no other. Her and @venusewilliams never fought argued and zero jealousy. Simply amazing. But when they played against each other in practice it was a brutal competitive scary OMG Compton street fight in the OCTAGON and must see tv.”

Macci’s excitement was quite visible in the tweet. He used an exclamatory and an all-caps word to hype the incident, as words would not suffice. However, his tweet comes as no surprise since both Venus and Serena Williams are two of the strongest competitors in the sport but have an equally humble personality off the court.

The strong bond of the Williams sisters during the rivalry years
Even during their peak years, the sisters’ love and affection were not affected by the rivalry. In fact, Venus had famously said in a CNN interview, “I don’t hold it(grudges) against them or treat them badly if they beat me. So Serena is my flesh and blood, why would I do that to her?”

The Williams sisters faced each other 31 times, which included multiple slam finals. However, for most of their career, they were teammates rather than rivals. They paired up as a doubles team in several slams while winning 14 of them. The sisters also had an impressive 14-0 record in slam finals!
