How Williams set an example of enhancing features

Tennis is a unique sport where high stamina is needed for longer durations. For example, the women’s singles matches at Grand Slams often touch the three hour mark. Williams highlighted this fact while revealing the reason behind enhancing her features on the court.

Williams narrated, “Showing up [like that] was great for me. Tennis is different than other sports. Sprinters and gymnasts, for example, can wear a full face of makeup. With tennis, you can play for three hours and have sweat pouring down your face. So I had to find little ways to enhance my features. It started with the beads—that was a way to express myself. From there, I leaned into eyeliner and lipstick.”

With the latest photoshoot, Serena Williams adds another one to her growing portfolio. She never fails to remain away from the spotlight, does she?
