Avatar: The Last Airbender is a series that is close to the hearts of many adults in 2024. Serena Williams is one of the many, and she was one of the few who actually managed to express her love for the show. She recently appeared in the promotional video for the recent live-action version of the series. While she enjoyed each moment of the video, fans of the show were left confused.

Aside from the promotional appearance, Williams also snagged a guest appearance in the original run of the series and its sequel, The Legend of Korra. Now, it is promoting a new run of the series, but this time, fans are quite confused.

In the promotional video of the live-action Netflix version of Avatar, Williams steps up to serve and jumps high with the use of air. She then smacks the ball, which lights up on fire. As it lands on the opposite side of the court, a barrel of water bursts. As Williams lands down, the Earth breaks apart. Her forehead has the same glowing tattoo as Aang’s, and her eyes glow in the same manner.

Around Williams, the symbols of all the elemental nations are flowing as well, showing her similarity to Aang. The commercial is for the ongoing series, but fans of the show aren’t quite happy with the theme of the video.

One fan showed their bewilderment with simple question marks.

Another fan first showed their astonishment and then laughed at the promo.

Yet another fan shared a series of question marks, this time accompanied by crying emojis.

A user showed their astonishment by exclaiming their surprise at the video.

One fan simply said they were terribly confused about the nature and purpose of the video.

One user angrily wondered what their agenda was with marketing the show with the 23-time grand slam champion.

Moving aside from the confused theme, one fan of the series wondered if she would have a cameo like she did in the original run of the show.

Williams also appears in the show as Ming, a guard who brings Iroh his meals. While the fanbase is aware of her small role in the show, they were left bewildered by the promotional video made by her and Netflix. What are your opinions about the advertisement?
