It was not supposed to turn out this way! Recently, the 7-time Grand Slam champion, Venus Williams received a wildcard entry into the National Bank Open in Montreal. It is a comeback of sorts for the American legend, having played in only four tournaments this year. Additionally, with the US Open coming up later this month, the importance of this tournament goes up even further. However, Venus received an unexpected blow ahead of her opening-round match at the WTA 1000 event.
The elder Williams sister was traveling to Canada with American Airlines. Venus is a frequent traveler with this airline, although, on this occasion, she didn’t have a pleasant experience.
