One of the French Open quarterfinals saw an All-American affair. Danielle Collins and Sofia Kenin battled it out for a place in the final four, and it was the latter who edged to victory. During a moment in the game, Collins directed her frustration towards her boyfriend and asked him to switch seats. Here’s why she did that!

As Collins and Kenin took the court, things turned intense pretty quickly. The 21-year-old took the first set 6-4 and left Collins frustrated on the court. The match flew in the favor of the 2020 Australian Open champion in the first set, but the tide quickly changed.

So why did Danielle Collins yell at her boyfriend to switch seats?

Collins began well in the second set. But during a point, she could not help but serve up three successive double faults. Instantly after posting the double faults, she urged her boyfriend to move around and switch seats. “Sit in a different spot. SIT IN A DIFFERENT SPOT. I’m distracted,” Collins yelled. This left everyone puzzled. But Collins provided an explanation for her actions.

“I had my boyfriend move to a different spot because I was distracted by something in front of him,” Collins said. “I just wanted to be able to look at him from a different location.”

“Sometimes too when I was serving the ball, I could see my team in the background, and I didn’t like that,” she added. Furthermore, Collins even brought examples from her previous games to assert how she’s been affected by her team’s seat choices.

“Actually during the [Garbine] Muguruza match they sat on the side of the court, and then I really didn’t like when they were sitting behind the court when I was playing [Ons] Jabeur. Yeah, it was just a mental thing, I guess,” Collins mentioned.
