Venus vividly remembers the moments following her injury. In the video that is shot in her own home, she says, “I remember walking off the court just limping and thinking this isn’t good. I go upstairs and still do a full cool down. I couldn’t really stretch.”
Talking about her injury, she says,
“So my leg’s hurting. I really can’t walk that well. I wake up the next day and I tell my physio ‘let’s get an MRI.’ “ADVERTISEMENT

However, the MRI reports were not exactly the best-case scenario. They showed clear signs of injury in her hamstring and Venus knew. She says that she immediately knew she couldn’t compete in the Grand Slam this way and she had to withdraw.
