Recently, Svitolina announced that she became the new ambassador for UNITED24, a fundraising initiative to support the people of Ukraine. Former Ukrainian footballer Andriy Shevchenko was the first ambassador.

“Every time I won on the court, I was happy to bring victory to my country. I have always been proud to be Ukrainian. Today, when my country is facing a horrific enemy, I will not stand aside. After her appointment as the ambassador, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a charity match that will feature the current world number one Iga Swiatek and the former Polish player Agnieszka Radwanska.
The match will reportedly take place on the 23rd of July in Krakow, Poland. Also, many reports are coming through that Radwanska and Swiatek will headline the match with Svitolina as the chair umpire. However, Radwanska’s participation is not yet confirmed, but there’s a good chance that she will play the charity match.

During her on-court speech after the French Open final, Iga Swiatek said some powerful words for Ukraine. She said, “I would like to say something to Ukraine. Stay strong, the war is still there.”
Meanwhile, the Polish player has been wearing the Ukrainian ribbon on her cap since the start of the French Open. In the past, she felt bad that many players didn’t support the movement and initially stopped wearing the ribbon.
