In the meantime, the counting continues for Swiatek, as she won 26 back-to-back matches in the WTA tour this season. The last time she lost a match was at the Dubai Open, when the former French Open champion, Jelena Ostapenko, beat the Polish player in the round of 16. Since then, the Polish star didn’t look back, as she won 4 consecutive titles, and three of those were WTA 1000 titles.
Along with her match-winning streak, she is also on a trophy-winning streak, as she is vying for the Italian Open as well. In the semi-final, she will face the no.3 seed, Aryna Sabalenka, a well-known opponent for her. Previously, Swiatek beat the Belarusian tennis player in the final of the Stuttgart Open final, to clinch her first clay-court title of the season. So, it will be a revenge match for the no.3 seed.
