The friends competed against each other 11 times on tour. However, Caroline Wozniacki won only one match, at the 2012 Miami Masters. She admitted that it was difficult to comprehend Serena Williams’ greatness from the other side of the net. In an exclusive interview with the Tennis Channel, Wozniacki said, “(Serena) she beat me way too many times. No, but I think uh the fact that you know she’s just such a great person.” She went on to say that Williams is, in her opinion, the greatest tennis player of all time.

The Danish tennis star explained how the 23-time Grand Slam Champion has given back both on and off the court. Williams, according to Wozniacki, is very special, and playing against each other was difficult.
Wozniacki further added, “there’s a lot of tournaments that I feel like I could have probably won, Grand Slams I could’ve won if she hadn’t been in my way. But at the same time what an honor to be there at the same time as her because I really got to play against, again, the best player to play this game.”
