Heartbroken Ons Jabeur looked sad after her defeat to Iga Swiatek recently at the WTA Finals. A win against the world number 2 would have almost secured her place in the semifinals of the tournament. But it didn’t happen. Iga Swiatek defeated Jabeur 6-1,6-2 to seal her place in the match against the world number 1 Sabalenka in the semis. Despite the defeat, Jabeur looked more disturbed by the war in Gaza. She wished she had the magical powers to stop all the wars happening around the world. ?I?ve been growing up with this war. It?s been going on for so many years. I feel like this time it?s more & more. It?s definitely not helping me emotionally. It?s very sad. I feel hopeless. I just wish peace & I wish this thing would end. If I had magic like Harry Potter, I would stop every war right now,? Ons Jabeur.

Ons Jabeur had a stellar campaign last year with several outstanding performances. She had won her maiden WTA 1000 title in Madrid along with reaching the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open. But this year, she has been plagued with health issues and numerous injuries which took her out for a significant time. The 29-year-old looked for a comeback in Cancun, but it didn’t go as she would’ve wanted. But that doesn’t stop her from being an inspiration to her fans.
