Navratilova answers herself. Recently, while replying to a fan on her Twitter handle, the former World No. 1 gave a slight glimpse of how she would react to seeing her past matches.

Yesterday, the 7th of August, a fan took to his Twitter handle, expressing his inclination towards classic tennis matches. Going further in his Tweet, he revealed his current watch, featuring Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver.

Been watching a lot of older tennis matches of late. In a Hana Mandlikova mode at the moment. What a talent! Watching ‘88 Aussie Open doubles w/ Martina Navratilova & Pam Shriver taking on Hana & Jana Novotna Legends all,” the Tweet read.

Putting up the Tweet, little did he know that he would get a reply from the legend herself. Fascinated by the Tweet of the fan, Navratilova took to the reply section, writing, “Where did you find that? I have watched so few of my past matches:), mind you I would be yelling at the tv – how the ef did you miss that?!?”

The conversation did not end here. Getting a reply from Navratilova, it is needless to say that the fan further took the conversation ahead with the 65-year-old. Addressing Martina’s question about finding the matches, he shared the YouTube link of the video, asserting that he finds all the matches on the video-sharing platform.

Navratilova/Shriver outplay Mandlikova/Novotna

Apart from dominating the singles format, Navratilova also took control over the doubles game. Continuing her legacy with long-time doubles partner Pam Shriver, the two entered the 1988 Australian Open. With the 1987 Australian, French, and US Open wins in their bags, the two kicked off their campaign as the top seed.

Strongly moving in the draw, the two set up a quarterfinal clash with the 6th seeded pair of Hana Mandlikova and Jana Novotna. Mandlikova and Novotna had showed some impressive performances reaching the quarterfinals. However, despite giving their best shot, the 6th seeded pair failed to withstand the all-American storm, losing 6-0, 7-6 to the eventual champions, Navratilova and Shriver.
