‘I Was So Tired’ – Serena Williams Reminisces Good Friend Meghan Markle’s ‘Royal Wedding’ With Prince Harry

In an emotional essay that took the entire world by surprise, Serena Williams announced her retirement from tennis after the upcoming US Open. In that essay, she talked about her career and her decision to say goodbye to tennis and many other things.

Earlier, Vouge released another video, where the 23-time Grand Slam champion was reminiscing about her time at the Royal Wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in 2018. In that fun interview, Serena talked about her dress at that wedding and how long it took to get ready for that perfect look.

During the interview with Vogue Magazine, Serena was looking at the picture and talked about wearing a pink-colored Versace. She said, “I love this image. This is at the Royal Wedding when my friend Meghan married Harry.“

“Again, another Versace look… But what’s so iconic about this? I was like ‘Royal Wedding, I’m definitely wearing braids’. All night they were braiding my hair. There were two girls or three girls… I was so tired, I was like ‘I’m going to sleep’. And I lie down and then they just kept braiding until the morning and they finally finished. It was a very long process, but it was so worth it,” Serena further said.

Interestingly, in this interview, Serena admitted that Meghan Markle was her friend, which she previously denied in a Vanity Fair interview. However, they have been friends since 2014, despite Serena downplaying their friendship at times. It is worth noting that Serena also hosted a baby shower for her friend Markle. Moreover, Serena stood up for her friend during her controversial times after the wedding. So, it’s safe to say, they were pretty close to each other.

Meanwhile, Serena’s recent announcement about retirement shocked the entire world. Many fans and celebrities took to social media and congratulated her for having an amazing career. However, a few fans refused to accept that the legendary tennis player is finally retiring from tennis.

Earlier, she wrote an essay in Vogue magazine, where she talked about expanding her family with her husband Alexis Ohanian. Moreover, Olympia wanted to become a big sister, and Serena wants to fulfill her daughter’s wishes.

As we are nearing the end of Serena’s incredible tennis career, it will be interesting to see if she can achieve her goal at the US Open this year, i.e. to match Margaret Court’s record 24 Grand Slam titles.
