Tennis legend, Serena Williams, might be considering a comeback, but for now, she is delighted with being a parent to her five-year-old daughter, Olympia. Serena started having breathing problems after giving birth to her daughter; later, doctors discovered blood clots in her lungs. She ended up being bedridden throughout her daughter’s first six weeks of life.

In September 2017, the 40-year-old and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their daughter Olympia into the world. Williams and Olympia have an extremely sweet and endearing relationship, and the former enjoys posting on social media about her daughter’s daily activities. The five-year-old enjoys spending time with her parents, which can include anything from playing with her toys to taking driving lessons from her dad Alexis Ohanian.
Serena Williams talks about post-delivery issues
Serena gave birth through a cesarean delivery. After giving birth, they thought, they wouldn’t have to face any further problems after the c-section delivery. The bleeding from the C-section wound was one of the complications that Serena faced.

Serena suffered from a hematoma, which led her to a lot of surgeries. She said, “Little did I realize that this would be the first of many surgeries. I wasn’t coughing for nothing; I was coughing because I had an embolism, a clot in one of my arteries. The doctors would also discover a hematoma, a collection of blood outside the blood vessels, in my abdomen, then even more clots that had to be kept from travelling to my lungs. To me, it was just a fog of surgeries, one after another.”

Olympia likes to twin with her mother, Serena
Serena Williams and her daughter give major twinning goals. Recently, during her last match at the US Open, we got to see Serena’s little version. In the third round of the US Open, Serena Williams faced Ajla Tomljanovic in her final encounter. For the game, Olympia wore a glittering black Nike dress to match her mother and was sitting in the stands with her father, Alexis Ohanian.
Previously, they were also seen wearing similar pajamas and having fun. Serena enjoys dressing Olympia and they are always connected to each other, even when the former world number one is playing. Notably, for the first round in the US Open, Olympia braided her hair the same way her mother did when she won her first US Open in 1991.

Serena gave an emotional farewell to tennis after losing the third round. After retirement, Serena is determined to expand her family and spend more time with them.
